Sermon Focus Points
►Unfairness shapes most of who we are today.
►We have a tendency to always be able to list our problems. This is not a talent to be proud of.
►Examples of unfairness in the Bible:
~Eve got kicked out of the Garden of Eden, (but at least she didn’t have to fend of other women for her man).
~Joseph was bullied by his brothers, (but went on to be one of the most important men in Egypt).
~Moses had difficulty speaking, (but his story is one of the most inspiration stories in history).
~Esther was forced into an arranged marriage, (but became a pivotable heroine for her people).
~David had women problems, (but is remembered as a great King).
~Peter was a sinful man, (but became a part of Jesus’ inner circle).
►While unfairness can have a dramatic effect on your life, there are positives about unfairness:
~Unfairness can help unite people, as everyone has things in their lives which are unfair.
~Marriage can sometimes be considered as unfair to one or both of the spouses, but when we decide this unfairness is to big for us to handle, and we look up to God in prayer, God can soften our hearts, and take this unfairness, and turn it into a learning experience, showing us just how fortunate we are.
~No matter how unfair we believe our lives are, Jesus “dies” for every time we make the mistake of making an unfairness more than it really is.
►We must realize that a perceived unfairness is in reality a learning experience for us, giving us the opportunity to grow as a person and share God’s love.
►Don’t fall into the trap of expecting fairness, but instead live a life of giving. Give as Jesus gives, love as Jesus loves.
