Hubert's Obituary
He loved music, and at a very young age he learned to play the piano. He also played the trombone in the Helena High School Band.
Huey worked as a custodian for the Helena School District in his hometown of Helena, Montana until he retired.
He loved cars, and was a member of the Helena Carriage Club as well as the Corvette Club. He owned several beautiful cars throughout his lifetime, including a white 1957 Ford Thunderbird coupe but his favorite car was the Chevrolet Corvette.
He often talked about going home to his beloved Montana and was a proud member of The Sons and Daughters of the Montana Pioneers, contributing many historical documents to the museum in Helena, Montana’s state capital library.
Huey was preceded in death by father, Oscar Milot on June 15, 1971; mother, Hazel Byrd Milot on May 9, 1993; wife, Martha Milot in 2009; and second wife, Mary Milot in 2024.
He is survived by brother, his only sibling, David Ernest Milot, and David's wife Gloria of Missoula, Montana; niece, Michelle Florea and her husband, Val; along with Michelle's children, Keely and Tyler; and nephew, Michael Milot.
He never had any children of his own but will be fondly remembered by many stepchildren and their children, whom he loved very much.
He spent his entire adult life in service of his community and Jesus Christ. Huey was an elder of the Zion’s Hope Restoration Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ in Missouri. He and his wife, Mary, served as board members at Zion’s Ridge Campground. Huey was ordained as a teacher by his dear friend and elder, Dennis Moe.
My beloved uncle Huey, was, in fact, a teacher. Just by being himself, with his challenges and disability, he taught everyone around him to love and accept all people without judgement or prejudice because of disability, the color of their skin, their economic or social status, or even their beliefs.
He LOVED.
Take the Lowly Place
Luke 14: 12-14
12 Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. 14 And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
These words define my uncle and the way he lived his life. I will miss him very much until we meet again in heaven. I love you Uncle Huey.
-Your niece, Michelle.
