Sermon Elder Ken Schmidt 21:46
Sermon Focus Points
►Peter’s deliverance from prison in Acts 12,1-9, is symbolic of a sinner’s deliverance.
►People often confuse being a Christian with actions we partake in, but being a Christian is much more.
►Being “born again”, is fundamental to being a Christian, where changes in your heart, your spirit, and your innermost being take place.
►A Christian is one that has been born again, such that the deepest desire of his heart is that every part of his life and his being be surrendered to God’s control.
►It may be impossible to be perfect, but you need to ask yourself, “Is there any part of my life that I do not desire to be surrendered to God’s control?” For example, consider how you spend your money, how you spend your time, what you eat, what you read, how you discipline your children how you treat your spouse, what movies you watch, what you watch on TV, what your read, how you treat your employees, what you wear, your sexuality, your language, and how you communicate with others.
►Definition of Sin: Choosing to do things the way we want them to be done versus the way God, the Lord, the Supreme Master, wants them to be done.
►Key to bringing forth the Kingdom of God, is the nature of our trust. In disagreements, are we will to bring the conflict under the Lordship of Christ?
►Each of us must strive to bring our heart into alignment with Jesus, so that we can trust that our hearts together belong to Jesus.
