Psalms 100:1-5
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God;
it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise;
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations.

Alma 16:218-222
218 Therefore may God grant unto you, my brethren,
that ye may begin to exercise your faith unto repentance,
that ye begin to call upon his holy name,
that he would have mercy upon you; yea,
cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save;
219 Yea, humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him;
cry unto him when ye are in your fields; yea, over all your flocks;
cry unto him in your houses, yea, over all your household,
both morning, mid-day, and evening; yea,
cry unto him against the power of your enemies;
yea, cry unto him against the devil,
who is an enemy to all righteousness.
220 Cry unto him over the crops of your fields,
that ye may prosper in them:
cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.
221 But this is not all:
ye must pour out your souls in your closets,
and your secret places, and in your wilderness;
222 Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord,
let your hearts be full,
drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare,
and also for the welfare of those who are around you.

Mark 12:34-36
34 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is;
Hearken, and hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord;
12:35 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength.
12:36 This is the first commandment.
And the second is like this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

Doctrine & Covenants 68:4a-4f
4a And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion,
or in any of her stakes which are organized,
that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance;
faith in Christ the Son of the living God;
and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost
by the laying on of the hands when eight years old,
the sin be upon the head of the parents;
4b for this shall be a law unto the inhabitants of Zion,
or in any of her stakes which are organized;
and their children shall be baptized
for the remission of their sins when eight years old,
and receive the laying on of the hands:
68:4c and they shall also teach their children to pray,
and to walk uprightly before the Lord.
4d And the inhabitants of Zion
shall also observe the sabbath day to keep it holy.
4e And the inhabitants of Zion, also, shall remember their labors,
inasmuch as they are appointed to labor,
in all faithfulness; for the idler
shall be had in remembrance before the Lord.
4f Now I, the Lord, am not well pleased
with the inhabitants of Zion,
for there are idlers among them:
and their children are also growing up in wickedness;
they also seek not earnestly the riches of eternity,
but their eyes are full of greediness.

Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Sermon Focus Points
►God wants us to have joy, He wants us to have peace in our hearts, and build the Kingdom of God in our hearts.
►God wants us to foster a love for not only Him, but for each other. The Body of Christ is nothing without love.
►We should be present for each other, not only in prayer, but physically.
►To testify of Jesus Christ is to live our lives with the Holy Ghost inside of us.
►Prayer is a powerful petition to God, as we lift each other up before God, and allow God to bestow blessings upon us.
►When we experience hard times, we should remember as a people, to come together, unifying in prayer,
►When we are open to the power of the Holy Spirit, God can bring about great blessings through adversity.
►It is important to grow our faith before adversity hits us, because the Lord can use our faith and hope to see that God is truely in control.
►In order to live with God in Celestial Glory, we are called to be valiant in our testimony, sharing with others what God has done in our lives.
►Adults need to be vigilent in their efforts to teach their children to pray, and to walk uprightly before the Lord.
