Sermon Elder Timothy Sperry 04:49
Sermon Focus Points
►Hope, Love, and Preparation are all discussed numerous times in the scriptures. However, preparation is not discussed very often in teaching and sermons.
►Preparation means to be ready to share the gospel in any situation.
►If we are unable to share the gospel, we become an ineffective soldier for God, risking the souls of those we come in contact with.
►God does not call us to stand alone. A soldier is not meant to stand alone.
►If a soldier is standing alone, he is no longer a soldier. He has become a warrior, leaving brothers and sisters behind, to also stand as warriors.
►As soldiers, we must stand together in unity. Soldiers don’t have to agree with everything, but good soldiers set aside their differences, and move forward at their commanding officers orders.
►A soldier preparation can be compared to our spiritual lives.
►A soldier trains with exercise. A soldier knows his tools. A Christian studies the scriptures, learning not only on how to defend the faith, but looking for opportunities to share the faith.
►A soldier trains with realistic situations. A Christian trains by finding answers to difficult questions that are likely to come up in conversations with others.
►The Devil will attack those that proclaim the gospel. If you find that there is no difficulty in your life, you should question your resolve in defending and sharing the gospel.
►A soldier trains other soldiers. A Christian helps train others, being an influence toward Christ.
►You can never force someone to do what is right, but you can lead and influence by being prepared in the gospel.
►One way to train in the gospel is by learning from those who have been successful in sharing the gospel.
►Courage is not the absence of fear, but it is the action even through the fear.
►If you fear to declare the gospel, then prepare!
