Sermon Focus Points
►We may call ourselves Christians, but are our hearts truly the Lord’s.
►It can be beneficial for us to reflect on where we are at Spiritually, and where the Lord would desire us to grow closer to him.
►Prayer life is an integral part of being a Christian: Do we commune with our Father daily, leaning on Him for strength and wisdom, or do we struggle to put in a quick prayer as part of our daily routine?
►When we worship in church, are we focused on worshipping and what the Lord would have us learn, or are we simply looking forward to what we are doing after church, such as watching the big game?
►Do we regularly spend time reading the scriptures, allowing the words to teach and enlighten us?
►Do we remember the sacrifices that people made to make it possible for us to have the scriptures today?
►With what quality of love do we care for those around us? Do we care for the needy, the homeless, the outcast, and the oppressed?
►Do seek good for others before our own?
►Do we live in love towards our brothers and sisters in the church, or do we live selfishly, and looking down on others we see as different than ourselves?
►What kind of testimony do we bear to those around us? Are we showing God’s peace and joy in our lives?
►What is it that brings about a transformation in our life to be “Truly Converted”? We must respond to God in faith, making and keeping the covenant with God.
►Faith is an action, we trust God’s word by obeying His commandments.
►The Lord always stands with merciful and open arms, ready to receive us.
►We have the promise in the scriptures that as often as we sincerely repent, the Lord will forgive us.
►Often, the transformation to being “Truly Converted”, may be a journey we are taken through, as we grow from Grace to Grace.
►As we repond to what we know of God’s will, He is able to enlighten us and teach us even more.
►Baptism is just the beginning on the path to eternal life. We will stumble on the path, but the Lord will provide ways to help us if we are faithful.
►If we desire to grow closer to God, an excellent place to start is to love those in our daily lives, seeking to be a instrument in God’s hand, to provide service to those around us.
