When the power goes out, one family gathers around an old lantern and discovers a deeper lesson: a clean outside is not enough. To shine, the lantern must be filled, prepared, protected, and lifted up—just as our hearts need the light of Christ within us.
A sponge soaks up what surrounds it and releases it when squeezed. Like a sponge, our hearts absorb thoughts, feelings, and influences daily. When life gets tough, what’s inside comes out. Filling our hearts with God’s Word, prayer, and love helps us reflect kindness, patience, and peace, showing Jesus through our actions and words.
