Summary
The Living Hope Family & Personal Devotions for Sunday, June 28, 2026, centers around the theme “Be Like Him - Be the Light of the World”, celebrating America's 250th birthday through a spiritual lens.
Drawing on Matthew 5:14-16, believers are reminded of their divine call to shine as visible beacons of hope, just as America was founded as a beacon of freedom and liberty. Christians are encouraged to embody Christ's light by serving others, sharing the Gospel, and living with integrity in their communities. The devotion reinforces that true freedom is a gift to use in spreading love and truth, much like the “city upon a hill” imagery. Using Philippians 2, the study calls for unwavering faithfulness even amid moral challenges, urging believers to shine brightly without hiding their faith “under a bushel.”
Through prayer, discussion, illustrations, and practical activities like an object lesson involving light in a tent and a children’s corner with relatable examples, the devotion inspires believers of all ages to actively live out their faith as a powerful testimony to the world.
